Hello world!

I was looking forward to returning to Tirgu Mures to continue the work that was started by an ambitious club in last season. I appreciate all of the support I have received from fans of team, team president and sponsors.

We have not big budget this season compared with other teams, we created good new team, but we have difficult preparation period, small number of preparation games, bad luck with the choosing players…
The opening was really hard as we lost three games in a row. I‘m really sorry about that.

From the first practices everything is coming out very difficult. It’s hard for the players, they are thinking a lot about what they are requested to do rather than just setting their instincts and playing off them. Guys are getting to know each other slowly, they understand my ideas slowly and I slowly understand their way of seeing basketball. As a result, in first games we were mechanical and didn’t have a good flow. Sometimes we made very good strides, sometimes committed unexpected mistakes.
But that’s the way it is. We didn’t have enough preparation games in the weeks before the championship start.

As a coaching staff, we working hard to prepare a team for games. I hope that the players will play fast and strong, find easy ways to the basket, fastbreaks, etc, which will make the game spectacular for everybody. I define a good team attitude by how well the players accept their roles and their responsibilities to the team.

The difference is that here expectations are even higher.

We need to live with the short time we have, put in effort and make the most of it. I ask players to understand that maybe we don’t play nice basketball now, but at the same we have to try to be consistent, win as many games as possible and get the feeling that we’re starting to play well together.
We need to improve our defense, rebounding , transition and fast-break points. Concentrating on them will help us win games and not depend on our ability to play nice basketball. When we get to know each other much better, games will become smoother.

I always want my team to be as strong as possible, and to win as many games as possible.
We’ll see. I hope for the best. It’s yet another challenge, another way to play and coach basketball.
I‘m really hope that our fans will support us even after a bad start.

    Dear Sir,
Real honest, wise words from a head-coach. It is not easy to build a team that works good from the beggining. We all need time: time to wait for you to grow together to be as a family, the payers read your mind and fallow your instructions as they fallow their instincts, we, the fans, the people who attend each home game and the many who accompany the team to all away games, we believe that all of you can do better.
Noone challenges your ability, all teams need at least one season to grow together. I wish you all the good strengh, wosdom, pacience and strife to guide our team to a future, that you dream about, and they can touch it, taste it and feel it.
Backetball is not about the show, is about the efficiency on the field. Usefullness pays better then show-off. I think we need to be efficient in the first place. But you know best, how to do it, all we can do is trust you, and wait for the results to come, because they will come.
All the best of luck, health to you, and hopefully you will enjoy not just coaching our team, but life as well in our town.

  2. Salceanu Viorel says:

Here is you No. 2 fan. I think Huba is a bigger one than me. But I do believe in your work Mr. P and I do hope for the best to happen.

  3. Ovidiu Paun says:

Dear Mr. P…you should know that even if there are some contestants of your work….everybody is happy with your work and I honestly think that you are the best thing that ever happened for BC Mures and that you are the most skillfull coach we ever had….Thank you for your hard work and I hope that the wins will come as well…Everybody learns from their mistakes and we had some mistakes so maybe now the wins will start…We always will be surrounding you at the games and we will support you and the team because we love basketball and we care about you and the players….

    Keep up the good work…

  4. Zoli says:

Greetings from USA. I am following closely the championship and the BC Mures phenomenon and I’m very happy that we can have you as coach of our team. I wish you and the team all the best and keep the path you started. I believe we could achieved much more with a better and longer preparation time before the championship started.

Good luck for the Asesoft game, and who knows maybe we can produce a pleasant surprise. If not, hopefully the fans will be happy and proud of our team’s performance.

  5. Mamba says:

I am sure, the fans have patience, and I am sure, if you have time enough, the results will come. But I’m afraid of the stupidity of some politicians, from who depends the material support of the team. Sadly, they do know nothing about basketball, generally about sport, they are only idiots with power.
Did you noticed, that politicians choose always the short term popularity decisions, rather to see the long term general good?
I hope you will have time, to finish your work…

  6. Csiki Zsolt CSaba says:

I’ve been at a few practices, and although i am not an expert in basketball, i can say with great confidence that you are doing a good job given the circumstances. The club couldn’t sign a first class home player, and we can see in every game that those who we got now, can’t really rise to the expectation. They are working hard at practice, but they either don’t have the physical or mental capability to be great players. Don’t misunderstand me, they are valuable to the team in one way or the other, but not one of them can be a standout player no matter the circumstances.
I am not a fan of “results”, i was there when the team played in the 2nd division and i will be there even if god forbid they will play there again.
I don’t think that the team can win the next 2 games, but you and i (and i hope most of us) know that you have to start every game with a desire to win it, no matter the opponent. Otherwise there is no purpose to do this. And if the team happens to lose the next 2 games, but played in a manner that shows 105% determination, the people who matter (i can’t say the sponsors) will stay next to the team.

  7. laci_free says:

The pressure was on for the first 3 championship games because most of the fans expected wins. For the next 2 games there is no pressure at all because everybody expects two consecutive losses so this might be the a big chance for the players to freely express themselves. In any case, don`t forget that the majority of the Bc Mures fans have a very strong optimism and even after losses they will stand by the team and encourage it in difficult times. This is what makes us different from others :)
I like your work and I have seen some of your practice ideas. Unfortunatly not everybody form the team understood your ideas and tactics but I am sure that if you keep pushing them they will all get in the rhythm. Although I am not an expert in basketball I have noticed 2 things that I want to ask you: 1) Is it true that some of the players are a little bit afraid of you (I don`t know why, I`m sure that they shouldn`t be); 2) During the games you often make double changes introducing 2 guys in the game because the romanian player is playing bad or is tired. From outside this double move seems to affect very much the outcome of the next 2-3 minutes and it turns the whole team upside-down. Why don`t you change the romanian player with another romanian player without moving another spot? (I think Vajda can be changed with Vlaicu and Jakab on one hand and Pora should be changed with Bulancea or Hallai. It`s not the best option but it is still better than change 2 players every time) GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR PLAN! We are behind you!!!

  8. Dan says:

You have a very hard job, but with hard practice and sometimes a little bit of chance you can do it. We will support you from outside the court as much as we can. Good luck !

  9. sz2lori says:

We’ll be in the jungle tomorrow night…TOGETHER WE WILL WIN!!!
There is so many people in Tg-Mures apreciating your work, that it would be a shame not to succeed…unfortunately there’s not enough time…let’s hope everybody will be patient!!! I wish you the best of luck!!!
PS: i think you’re the first coach in romanian basketball who has a blog, CONGRATULATIONS and THANK YOU

  12. László Attila Aszalós says:

Although our team lost the first three games and probably will lose the next two I guess I’m not wrong that the home crowd will be next to you and will support our beloved team. I also believe that the next two games are excellent opportunities to test some of the tactical elements with a ruff opponent. After these two games I1m confident that the we’ll win as many as possible games.
Good luck and keep up with the good work.

  13. trueman says:

Right now you are probably at the gym preparing the guys for the Asesoft game! I can already say CONGRATULATIONS for winning this big game (or at least the fans sympathy).

  14. István Köllő says:

    Turnovers and free throws..
For less turnovers we need more time, to play better as a team, and the players to know their roles better.
The free-throws are.. well, players personal responsibility to fix that category (off-season, extra work, so on..) I cannot imagine that at this level it would be the coach’s responsibility, or that he could have a quick-fix for that.
Overall I think we got what we expected from this game, we were in it till the end. Congratulations for the game, can build on this I think and all will be fine. Don’t think that before the season anybody penciled in some points against Ploiesti and Cluj, and to lose by 3 points in Otopeni and Oradea was in the cards, as acceptable. So I guess we all agree, it can only get better as the season goes on, and counting of the points needs to be done at the end. I believe we will be all smiles then.
But if, as according to some rumors, some people can see only this short, and they can count only till 5, than it means basketball is not a game, not a sport, only some people’s personal toy. I am a basketball fan, and a fan of this team as long as it is about basketball.
Good luck, coach, good luck, team, good luck BC MURES.
Patience, all-powerful owners of our dreams and our little pleasures.

  15. Warrior says:

Hey mrs. P , if this fans trust you so much, why BCM’s record is 0/4?? I think the team still needs time to play together. I don’t think that Audrius Prakuraitis is the best think ever happend to BCM!! Look at his performence last year and now! In 07/08 season we had a FANTASTIC team! And a real COACH ! If you try to play with more fantasy i’m sure that BCM will play much better. The last coach was a romanian, he created the team. I think that he put his mind and soul for BcMures to win, and to play BASKETBALL!! P.S. – if the team will play with more fantasy against a team that plays an exact basketball, that may be the answer

  16. László Attila Aszalós says:

Mr. P. First of all congratulation for the last night game. This was real basketball. This was a team we all wanted to see: sheer determination and team work. Pity for those free throws. If we play this kind of play in the upcoming games I’m confident we can win on almost every game. And please don’t count on peoples opinion like Warrior’s who it seems don’t have a clue about basketball. Two years ago we’ve had wonderful players but no coach. I have nothing to do with Mr. Corui but time demonstrated that he’s coach abilities aren’t for league one. You’ve made a fine job last season with very few usable players and I’m sure you will do this season to. Keep up with the good work and have better luck on this Sunday’s game.

  17. Vlad Mihai Amariei says:

    Dear Sir,
I’m very sorry to tell you this, but you were totally uninspired yesterday when we lost against Asesoft and, maybe, you know that. You have to improve more if you want to win.
I believe in you, in your work, you’ll have all my support as a sport journalist, but the fans don’t have time to lose.
Leave the fantasy or the show, we need a victory! We have to win against Pitesti and Steaua! Just win these games and we’ll talk again!

  18. Huba says:

Good game yesterday, pity for the free throws and turnovers. Maybe you should introduce a rule that every time we lose a game the players get a 5/10 euro per missed free throw cut from their salary. They are killing us! Don’t worry about the criticism, that’s good too (good for nothing this time, they didn’t even have one good point).

  19. laci_free says:

Yesterday`s game was not Mr. P`s fault!!! When your team has 30 turnovers in one single game and 59% from freethrows you can`t blame the coach. 30 turnovers mean 30 attacks without even shooting the ball. Question: do you still belive in Keyon Sheard and Travis Reed? My non-expert opinion is that the second player movement should be Reed. If Cooley signs a deal I would trade Reed because if you will have injury or other problems with the smaller players (Marius, Keyon, Peciukas) you can bring in another quick small player. If you have those problems with Masiulis or Tomic you still have tall players like Vajda, Jakab and Vlaicu. The only player that I liked yesterday was Masiulis who gave us some confidence in the paint. If he gest quicker we will have a very good center. Anyway, please don`t take my stupid opinions seriously :)

  20. Warrior says:

I think that the team is ok… but the tehnical staff made some wrong moves last 2-3 years. They put Largent out, and let Cooley and L.McKenna go away, Knitter was not getting payed, and went playing in France. Hmm, if things like this will happen again, i think nobody will come to see BCM home. Hey Laszlo or what’s your name. NO COACH!!! He was a second coach at the Romanian national team!He build from nothing a team!He tooked BCM in the playoffs. He brang Cooley , McCullough,Truscott, Luke, this players comed for playing in he’s team! All what you see every game (fans) they think that basketball is a chess game, a robotic game. Is about desire, is about playing with your heart! with M.C. they beat sibiu, cluj, dinamo, pitesti etc. Now nobody is afraid to play in the jungle, now BCM is nothing (comparied last 2-3 seasons) u can say wathever you wan’t (@Laszlo Atilla)!

  21. Mamba says:

First of all, Largent was not “put out”, he choose to leave by him self. Nobody could keep him with force!. Second: Knitter left like a thief, exactly when de transfer period expired, not because he was’nt paid, he left because he was counciled that way by someone who want to destroy this team. Third: Cooley choose by him self to try to get in NBDL, the club wanted him back, and still wants him. Maybe he choosed to stay in the States because his wife has given birth to a child lately.
Fourth, and last: I think Warrior your criticism is not without interest, I think dark political forces are behind you. And that’s not some shade idea. In fact I am convinced of that.

  22. oldboy says:

“Dear” Warior if you are crying for Knitter you know s**t about basketball!

    1. If you don’t know Knitter was kick out from the French team because he was playing very bad!

    1. If Corui is so good why the Medias staff trow him away?

At least inform your self before write something here!

  23. Huba says:

I’m sure streetball is not a robotic game. Cooley was recommended by Sibiu’s beloved M. Vulc to be brought (not brang :) ) as far as I know, but that’s just what I’ve heard, it doesn’t mean it’s true. But that’s the past.
The present is hopefully just the foreplay for the future, I think that is what most people here hope for and that is what they expressed during Wednesday’s game.

  24. Warrior says:

OK,OK, maybe i’m right, maybe i’m wrong, but u must know that BCMures is on the last position in the Romanin league! If u guys think that was corect to put Corui out after 2 loses(with Medias) and with Timisoara, and now, after 4 loses, it will be 7 i think!BCM will be eliminated from the coup. It’s allright i guess, everybody is happy! Of course you, will tell me that the club haves financial problem! They have s**t! All the time BCMures had a low budget! All the players transfered (before mrs.P) was from the SBS agency(SBSplayers.com) Please don’t tell me about Vulc, i’m tired. After the loose in ORADEA!(2 times-last year and now) is still OK, nothing to say?? I know hwo are you(oldboy*) You now basketball better than Phil Jackson! Why do you not started coacching?? YOU can’t play bascketball! Now you talk about coaches(MC,) I think that this guy haves 30 years of bascketball! I’m sorry but you speak on the internet about bascketball and in your personal life, u are a big 0(talking about the phenomen of basketball)

All the offtopic is gonna stop right now. The blog was created for the interaction between coach Prakuraitis and the fans, not to bring back old talks from last year. We still have the forum for all the other talk in the world, please try to understand and respect that.

The next comment that does not concern this post might get a ban.

  26. laci_free says:

Hey everybody! This is a blog for Mr. P. and you shouldn`t transform into a battle zone. If Warrior has an opinion it only concerns the owner of this blog. Why is everybody responding to Warrior? Why can`t you ignore his comments. I like Mr. P. too but I don`t want to be his lawyer and defend him in his own blog. As I see right now he is ignoring Warriors comments without deleting them.

  27. oldboy says:

Last post off topic: @warrior: I don’t know who you are and to be honest I don’t care! If you have a personal problem with me contact me on private way and we will talk about! A lot of people from the forum know me because I never hide my identity as you do by using several nick names. Anyway I never deny M.C.-s contributions to the development of basketball in our City. Everythink what I write in my post are facts. By the way I did not know that if I want to post on bc mures forum I must have a degree in basketball. Do you have one? Waiting your answer on private.
Sorry Mister P for off topic!

  28. Doesn't matter says:

yeah really oldboy? :) ) u dont hide ur identity :) ) i dont think that oldboy is your name:)) :-j

anyway.. about the team… is a good team still i think that travis reed is not such a big threat for the other team… I trust you Mr. P because i saw the performance that u did… still i think that without Cooley as point guard we will have a lot to suffer… i just watched the game with Asesoft… keyron lost some balls… maybe it wasn’t his day… but i guess that isn’t about having a good or bad day… u need to play the game no matter what and give your best… at the long passes i saw a lack at keyron… and arturas is a good piece… my advice is that u have to improve fast breaks, defense, free throws and the offense against the opposite teams defense.. good luck with this season… and i hope for a playoff:D good luck.

  29. Nagy Hunor says:

    Dear Mr. P!
I enjoy watching our games since you got to the team because you have brought us to a higher level of basketball. I think this team is capable of getting to the playoffs, they just need to get together and be a more cohesive team.
This blog is an amazing idea and i would like to see a lot more of your posts, i hope you will tell us your opinion about the home games and i hope that some ideas of your further plans about making this team work will be posted here as well.
I believe in you and your work, and i believe that we can see a serious squad of players and technicians this year. GO BC MURES!

  30. Vlad-Mihai Amariei says:

Good luck at Pitesti and come back with a victory! I believe in you, Audrius, I’ve trust in this team and in the boys! Come on, win this game! Steaua, you’re next!

  31. adi bcm says:

Mister coach i want to know if is possibile why Marius Bulancea don’t play? He is a wonderfull player…..he is really good….he can play and he can do a good match….but in last 2 match he dont play….i just don’t understand. At rapid he was the best, at Mures he can be the best but you don’t put him in the game…..sorry but he can be the best….and he want to be the best….it’s your choose…Thank you;) and good luck for future.

  32. milf says:

Has this world gone completely crazy? Are you really telling me that after 5 shameful games you still believe that this team will manage any wins or that coach is that ‘amazing’? Sadly to say we don’t really have a coach that can bring this team together. He is a good manager, needless to say, but i think there are enough people sharing the ‘manager’ hat in this club; we don’t need another one. The guys in the team need a coach that can coach them and also has the insight to bring them together. The yelling, calling them idiots all the time, pointing out only the bad and the negative will not help these grown up men put their hearts and minds in what they are doing. What a sad position

  33. Lucian Paul says:

    Dear mr. P,
I am one of the (many) fans who are not coming anymore to see basketball in Tg. Mures since you’ve camed.
I want you to know that beside all the a..kissers that you’ve met, there are fans like me too.
I dont thiny that you will make many fleas here(ask someone to translate that, it’s an old Romanian saying), and I’m looking forward to that moment.

  34. Lucian Paul says:

    correction: “I dont think”

  35. István says:

I am one of the fans who knows what Lithuanian basketball is like, and I know we’re not there in the standings where we are because of you, coach, or the trio who is here with you from your country. At least not only, and I know you, all who are involved, are wondering what you did wrong, what you could do better..
I do not know much about how the training staff is built.. Do you have assistants who can help you understand the local players (and I don’t mean their language, but life philosophy, attitudes and level of professionalism, how can you reach to them and so on..)? I am sure there is no problem with your basketball knowledge, I am sure is enough for this level our 1st league is at, and is even higher than that. I think the core of the team, the foreign players, are pretty good (though an upgrade at point guard would/will clearly help), and I am sure the team will click rather sooner than later..
Looking forward to hearing your opinion, your view of this current situation and more.
    Good luck!
